Color Matching! Two different ways to play: match identical cards or match words with pictures.

Having the ability to match colors is something that we start at young age, but it follows us through life. Some business have a portion of their interview process that ask potential employees to arrange a color palette that would be appealing to them from a set choice. The reasoning behind it is that color choices often reflect our sense of organization and personality. They can also affect our overall mood and sense of well being. We see red as a danger color, blue as a sense of calm, and green as a sense of something to envy. It could not be even more critical in the online marketing world. Marketers will test hundreds of color variations to see which get them their best possible outcome, whatever it may be. These worksheets will present students with the most elementary form of color matching. It almost like that game concentration. Where are the two matches? Once students have mastered this, it is a cool idea to match the different tones to words or even shades. We rarely see any teachers put time into teaching shades of colors to students. Understanding the concept of shading and tones really helps students develop those creative left-brain skills. This is a great way to get that going.

Start moving your students beyond the primary colors with this fun plane color game. They'll start learning shades and blends such as Light Pink and Turquoise as they play. Cards can be put into a big pile to be matched, or placed face down and played Concentration style. Students can also search through the pile of color cards to find the right match for the word prompts in the plane outlines on the last sheet. In addition to the options above, you can also print several copies of each color page and have a rousing Go Fish tournament!
