In this section we work on two distinct types of problems. We start by calculating the perimeter of polygons and that is pretty simple, just find the sum of all of the sides. We will then move on to the more complex task of determining the distance around a circle called the circumference. There two methods for doing this. You could multiply Pi by the distance (length of a line that passes from through direct center of the circle) of the circle. Alternatively you could multiply Pi by two and the radius of the circle. Start by calculating the perimeter and area of different polygons by using information about their height, lengths, circumference, etc. Formulas for each shape are included.
Using these worksheets and activities, students will learn how to find the perimeter or circumference of various shapes by using formulas specific to those shapes.
