Polygons are plane figures that have at least three straight sides. In this section most of the polygons have many more sides to work with. The first thing you need to do is cut each polygon into sections. We would suggest that you choose to create figures that you are versed well with working with. The common formula for determine the area of a polygon is that area is equal to one-half multiplied by the perimeter of the polygons multiplied by the apothem.
Your students will work on how to determine the polygons using information provided about the length of their radius, diameter, sides, etc. (formulas have been provided).
Work with the many sided objects and find out their area. It is much easier if you focus on creating shapes that you have worked with before. The worksheets, lessons, and quizzes found below will help you not only learn how to find area when it comes to polygons, but we will look at how this skill applies to the real world. We will learn how to make measures with grids and find inscribed angles. We will also work with other shapes like triangles, circle, parallelograms, and trapezoids.
