These worksheets will teach your pre-k students the names and shapes of simple geometric figures.

Geometric shapes are literally the foundation of every construction project ever created. It is very important that students stay comfortable with geometric shapes. This is probably the first time students are formally introduced to all the different shapes. We are looking for our students to understand the differences between similar shapes. Circle and ellipses look similar, but all points in a circle are an equal distance from the center.

Math is a very tricky subject. On the outside, it a particularly challenging area that muddles the mind of students and make them lose their marbles! Hearing the name "math" makes them nervous and confused and students automatically drive away from the subject. However, the most fun part about math is geometry! All the shapes and colors is almost refreshing and interesting for the students. When the question arises as to how the objects and different shapes can be taught to the students, it very easy! The world we live in today is surrounded by tons of examples of geometric shapes and there are o many things that can be used to mirrored as shapes. For example, if you want to tell what an oval is, use an egg If you want to tell them what a straight line is, use the railway tracks as an example. For rectangles, use blackboards, for squares, use their exercise books. It will be easy and fun! These worksheets help students to learn the names and shapes of simple geometric figures through tracing and coloring.
