In these worksheets, students will differentiate between A.M. and P.M.

Time is one of the most important parts of our life. It is something that we cannot control but needs to take into consideration at every step of our way. Many kids find it difficult to read the time on a clock and are confused between two popular measures of time, a.m. and p.m. There are two types of clocks; 12-hour clocks and 24-hour clocks. In countries including the United States, Canada, ad Australia, the 12-hour clocks are used, and this is where a.m. and p.m. come to play. So, what do these abbreviations stand for, and how do we use them? Before we get into the details, we must understand what a 12-hour clock is. We know that there are 24 hours in a day. This system divides the hours of the day into two periods. Each of these is a period that has 12 hours. The first 12-hour period measures time in a.m. It runs from midnight to noon. The second-period measures time in p.m. covers the 12 hours from noon to midnight. a.m. stands for Ante meridiem, which translates to 'before noon' and p.m. stands for Post meridiem, which translated to 'after noon.'

An important aspect of understanding time is the ability to differentiate between and correctly use the abbreviations for A.M. and P.M. These worksheets introduce the concept of A.M. and P.M. and give students an opportunity to use the terms. A prior understanding of how to tell time is required. In these worksheets, students will respond to simple word problems by determining if the activity takes place in the A.M. or the P.M. They will draw hands on clock faces to indicate times. They will read the time on digital watches. They will also interpret pictures to determine if what is shown is taking place in the A.M. or the P.M. This set of worksheets contains step-by-step solutions to sample problems, both simple and more complex problems, a review, and a quiz. It also includes ample worksheets for students to practice independently. When finished with this set of worksheets, students will be able to recognize basic properties of a parabola by studying its equation. These worksheets explain how to determine A.M. or P.M. Sample problems are solved and practice problems are provided.
