#### When we are confronted with word problems one of our first priorities is to identify which math operations we will need to use. Obviously when we see the words: in addition to, sum of, and plus we understand that we will need to use the addition operation. There are many other keywords that can indicate this to us including: gain, total of, increased by, raise, more, and increase of. After you find these words in a word problem all you need to do is figure our which variables you are looking for the sum of.
